The disappearances of bankers across London reveals a childish literary character as the mastermind, forcing the Librarians to become characters themselves.

In Bloomsbury, Sir Christopher Chamley is working late at night when he is drawn to his window by a flute trilling. Lady Chamley, his wife, finds him hovering outside his window. Watching Sir Christopher suddenly fall, she sees he has vanished.
Charlie investigates and meets with Lady Chamley. With the others late, she calls Vikram, Lysa and Connor and criticizes them for not taking their duties seriously as she does. Lady Chamley explains that Sir Christopher, once lively, had become bogged down by his bank work and tells them about the flute. Investigating the window, Lysa finds dust and small footprints on the windowsill, while Connor finds a video with a recording of the flute.
The Librarians return to the Annex. While Lysa tests her sample, Vikram finds Sir Christopher to be the fifth banker to have gone missing in two weeks, all of whom had gone missing in the vicinity of Chamley’s home. Learning that the others neither read or know about her briefing notes, Charlie expresses frustration, believing they do not take her or their responsibilities seriously and wishing to not be the responsible one.
Using security footage around the city of London, Connor finds an incoming flute trill. Going through the Magic Door, Charlie finds another banker about to step out of his window. Grabbing him before he can fall, she is dragged out of the window with him. The others find that both have disappeared.
Charlie appears in an abandoned building. There, she finds the six bankers, including Sir Christopher, behaving childishly.
In the Annex, Vikram reveals a candle from the Library representing Charlie’s life force, confirming she is alive. Examining a book of animal footprints, the group finds the source to be goat prints. Upon learning the plant matter from Lysa’s dust sample originates from Mount Olympus, Vikram determines the culprit to be Pan.
Explaining the chaotic and destructive nature of Pan’s parties, Vikram notes that Pan is dead. Connor prompts him to realize he has been resurrected in another form of worshipping fun and, using Charlie’s briefing notes, determines 6 bankers have vanished from London every 20 years over the past century.
In the building, the bankers refuse to listen to Charlie for being too old. The figure radios through an intercom, revealing his knowledge of Charlie’s presence and threatening her. Trying to evade him, Charlie finds his quarters and the remains of the other bankers.
Connor obtains CCTV footage of Sir Christopher outside his window. He, Vikram and Lysa are mystified at finding a human shadow with no source with him, conflicting with the satyr figure of Pan. Excited, Lysa notices her dust sample glowing and begins floating. Linking the clues together, Connor and Lysa realize the mastermind is Peter Pan. Initially unfamiliar with the character, Vikram determines Peter Pan is the most recent iteration of Pan, created by modern popular culture’s overlapping ideas of Peter Pan and the god Pan’s.
Hiding, Charlie is cornered by Pan. Pan argues that the bankers he abducted truly wanted to be there, further trying to appeal to Charlie by admitting his knowledge of her telling the others about her frustrations with being responsible. Calling her Wendy, Pan declares the building is Neverland and shows her a vision of the novel’s Neverland. Encountering Tinkerbell, Charlie catches her. Finding that she can speak fairy, she enlists Tinkerbell to help her escape and sends her to the Library.
In the Annex, Vikram, Connor and Lysa are surprised by Tinkerbell’s arrival. Able to speak fairy himself, Vikram learns about Charlie’s situation and location. Arriving to actual Neverland, Vikram reports from Tinkerbell that the building is a temporary location due to Pan’s inability to return to the real Neverland after spending too long recruiting Lost Boys. Finding they cannot pass due to a story lock, they learn from Tinkerbell that they have to be a part of the story to enter. Using costumes from the Library, the group dresses as characters from Peter Pan lore: Vikram as Captain Hook, Connor as John Darling, and Lysa as the Crocodile.
Entering the building, Connor determines that, due to the literary Peter Pan’s habit of culling Lost Boys who grow too old, their version of Pan recruits older men with the unlimited potential of an inner child. When Vikram and Connor begin speaking differently, they determine the three are attaining aspects of their characters, leaving them wary of Lysa.
Pretending to be Wendy, Charlie asks Pan to send the bankers away. Boasting of his abilities, Pan refuses to let them leave. Vikram, Connor and Lysa appear; the Lost Boys scatter in fear of Vikram as Hook. Pretending to be Captain Hook, Vikram challenges Pan to a duel. Agreeing and charging Vikram to feed himself to the crocodile if he loses, the two engage in a sword fight in a vision of Neverland. Connor and Lysa split to find the Lost Boys, while Connor later notices Lysa has disappeared.
Fighting on the deck of a ship, Pan and Vikram open a portal to the real Neverland. Pan reveals using the bankers and the Librarians to fill elements in his story was his plan to return and bring them with him. Using Captain Hook’s literary defeat along with the deaths of past Hooks to his advantage, Pan disarms Vikram and forces him onto a plank, where Lysa begins turning into the crocodile beneath him.
Encouraged by Charlie to behave as himself and not as Captain Hook, Vikram refuses to continue fighting. Breaking the rules of the story, the illusion of Neverland disappears and returns everyone to the building and back to their original selves. With their personalities restored, the Librarians reunite with Charlie, who rigs a cannon to shot at Pan. As the group prepares to leave, Pan grabs Charlie, intending to fly with her to Neverland. Using memories and thoughts of her responsibilities to weigh herself down, Charlie leaves Pan to be dragged into Neverland alone. With the matter resolved, the bankers are returned to their homes.
At the Annex, Vikram, Connor and Lysa apologize for taking Charlie and her duties for granted. Rather than fill out paperwork, Charlie offers to take them out for dinner. While Vikram and Lysa go ahead, Connor admits he finds Charlie strikes a balance of following rules with caring about them.
